In brief - a magnificent, demanding course. Charlestown golf course is undulating with water not far from any holes. The 10th has some hidden water on the approach to the green that is out of view at the bend in the fairway. The course is well marked and easy to navigate and you even get a kookaburra thrown in - see Hole 10 layout. The greens were in very good condition on the day I played and look as though they consistently play true. This course is a real oasis in the middle of Newcastle.
